Dallas ISD announced it will continue to serve free meals to all students under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2025-2026 school year.

The CEP allows eligible schools to serve free meals to all students regardless of income. Under the program, schools receive funding based on a pre-established formula, so families no longer have to submit applications reporting their household income to receive free school meals.

This program is important to Dallas ISD because students who have access to better nutrition tend to perform better academically, are more attentive in class, have better attendance, and have fewer disciplinary issues. This approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators, and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.
