As Lindsay Davis explains it, she lives in East Dallas, works in the Park Cities, and serves in Preston Hollow.

The director of BBA admission for the SMU Cox School of Business got involved with JLD a decade ago “because an amazing co-worker and a dear family friend had me pegged as someone who would connect deeply to this work.”
“When you look at what JLD offers, between real leadership training, deep community connections, and meaningful impact, it’s tough to say no,” added Davis, who is now the league president.
What kind of work does JLD do?
Each year, our members contribute more than 100,000 hours of service (that’s an estimated value of $3.18 million!) along with more than $1 million in funding to nonprofit partners and Signature Projects across Dallas.
But we’re more than volunteers: We’re a pipeline of women who are trained civic leaders and change agents.
When you support the Junior League of Dallas, you’re not just giving to one cause. You’re investing in our community through a network of women who are deeply engaged, well-prepared, and committed to building a better Dallas, both today and for generations to come.
Why do you support it today?
Because I believe in the ripple effect. The Junior League of Dallas doesn’t just train women to lead. It gives them the tools, the confidence, and the community to lead well. For over a century, our members have gone on to champion causes far beyond the League, bringing that same clarity of purpose, strategic thinking, and service mindset to nonprofits, school boards, city commissions, and more.
And there’s simply no other organization in Dallas that supports the community quite like the Junior League. We don’t just write checks; we build capacity. We don’t just show up, we stay. Through long-term partnerships, strategic grantmaking, and hands-on service, we help nonprofits do what they do best: serve.
That’s why I support the League. Because it changes lives from those of our members to those of our partners and ultimately those of our city.
What would you say to someone else considering a donation to the nonprofit this year?
I’d say this: if you’re looking to invest in something that lasts, this is it.
Your donation to the Junior League of Dallas doesn’t just fund one program or one moment. It fuels a network of women who are trained to lead, equipped to serve, and committed to making Dallas better for everyone. It supports strategic grants to nonprofits doing life-changing work in education and the arts, health and wellness, strengthening families, and beyond. And it ensures that the next generation of civic leaders is ready, because the Junior League of Dallas is the organization that’s building them.
This isn’t charity. It’s change: intentional, measurable, and rooted in more than a century of impact.
I can’t think of a better return on investment than that.
