The Highland Park Scots are accustomed to playing big games against high-level opponents.
So are the Pulaski Academy Bruins.
Fortunately enough for high school football fans, the teams will do the same on Friday night at Highlander Stadium.
The Scots and Bruins kick off at 7 p.m., meeting for the third time. Highland Park won a 48-42 thriller in 2014, and Pulaski took a 40-13 victory in 2015 that stopped an 84-game home winning streak by the Scots.
Highland Park (2-1) is off to a hotter start this season, winning back-to-back games against Lovejoy and Jesuit. The Scots’ offense is humming, averaging 37.3 points per game even with a weather-shortened contest in Week 2.
Pulaski is 0-2 after losses to fellow Little Rock, Ark., school Robinson and Louisiana power West Monroe.

The Bruins are trying to shore up their defense, as they allowed 84 points in the two contests. The game against West Monroe, however, included a game-sealing fumble recovery in the end zone after a sack against the Bruins’ sophomore backup quarterback, who started in place of the injured starter.
