Part of University Boulevard east of Hillcrest Road was closed to traffic Wednesday afternoon due to filming for a Paramount+ television series.
Multiple individuals told Park Cities People that the crew was filming Lioness, a spy thriller starring Zoe Saldaña as the leader of an undercover operation aiming to dismantle a terrorist group. It was unclear whether Saldaña or Nicole Kidman, who plays a high-ranking CIA officer in the series, were at SMU for the filming.
Crew members said that they did not plan to return to SMU on Thursday. Those at the university on Wednesday sampled one local favorite — they ordered catering from the newly renovated Chick-fil-A across the street from SMU on Hillcrest.
The first two seasons of Lioness, a show from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, have a 73% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
