Former Highland Park standout Maja Lardner has signed her first professional soccer contract with Racing Louisville FC of the National Women’s Soccer League.
The deal is for two years with a mutual option for the 2028 campaign. Louisville begins its season on March 14.
Lardner is a 2021 HP graduate who has played the last five seasons as a striker at perennial power Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She was named the Big East offensive player of the year in 2024 and 2025.
She played 91 games with the Hoyas, recording 31 goals and 20 assists. She helped Georgetown win three conference titles, and was the top scorer for a team that reached the third round of the NCAA tournament in November before falling to eventual national champion Florida State.
“Maja brings versatility across the front line and is relentless in her press,” said Racing Louisville coach Bev Yanez. “She enjoys getting in behind the back line, works extremely hard, and we’re excited to welcome her to the group.”
Last season, Yanez led Louisville to its first playoff appearance and winning season in franchise history. The team finished in seventh place in the NWSL standings with a 10-9-7 regular-season record.

Lardner played four years for the Lady Scots, highlighted by a Class 5A state title in 2019, when she was named the championship game MVP.
