Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) will officially launch the regional rail service on Saturday, Oct. 25. Spanning over 26 miles, the Silver Line connects seven North Texas cities — Dallas, Addison, Richardson, Carrollton, Plano, Coppell, and Grapevine — with direct service to DFW International Airport.
“The Silver Line is a centerpiece of our Point B vision to make DART your first-in-mind mobility partner,” said Nadine Lee, DART President & CEO. “By connecting key employment centers, neighborhoods, and the world’s third-busiest airport, this project will be a catalyst for economic growth, provide access to opportunity, and a seamless mobility experience that helps our region thrive.”
To celebrate the launch, DART is offering free rides through Nov. 8 and will host all-day festivities at Silver Line Stations on Oct. 25, including live music, food trucks, kid zones, and a free evening concert. Celebrations will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the UT Dallas, Knoll Trail, Addison Station, Shiloh Road, 12th Street, City Line/Bush, Downtown Carrollton, Cypress Waters, DFW Airport North, and DFW Terminal B stations.
Silver Line represents a major investment in North Texas mobility, designed to ease congestion, reduce commute times, and support future regional growth. Each station reflects input from local communities and includes accessible, welcoming features for all passengers. Designed for speed, convenience, and accessibility, the Silver Line offers connections to DART Light Rail, bus routes, Trinity Metro’s TexRail, and airport terminals. Trains will run daily from 4 a.m. to 1 a.m., with service every 30 minutes during weekday peak.
