SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: MASKED MISCHIEF MAKER

Reported at 5:40 p.m. March 16: A shifty stealer wearing a surgical mask swiped three purses worth $12.000-15,000 from the Balmain store in Highland Park Village and fled in a gray, four-door vehicle.

18 Wednesday

Reported at 4:57 p.m.: How easy was it for a crook to drive off in an Audi Q5 that was parked in the 4500 block of Arcady Avenue? The keys may have been left inside. The vehicle was later found in Dallas. 

19 Thursday

Reported at 2:43 a.m.: A burglar got into a Range Rover in the 4600 block of Fairfax Avenue, leaving a door ajar, but didn’t appear to have taken anything. 

Reported at 5:37 a.m.: A ruffian rifled through a GMC Yukon in the 4600 block of Edmondson Avenue and stole a pair of sunglasses, a knife, and a Patagonia jacket. 

Reported at 11:40 a.m.: A crook got into a Ford Raptor in the 4600 block of Livingston Avenue and took a tray with an unknown amount of change.

Reported at 2:53 p.m.: A porch pirate pilfered two packages containing sweatshirts from a home in the 4600 block of Mockingbird Lane.

Reported at 10:03 a.m.: An opportunistic stealer took a Dell laptop from a Mercedes SUV while it was parked at the Whole Foods in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive

Reported at 2:37 p.m.: A scammer used the account information of a resident on Purdue Avenue. 

17 Tuesday

Arrested at 10:17 a.m.: A 47-year-old Mesquite man for warrants. 

18 Wednesday

Reported at 5:17 p.m.: A careless driver hit another vehicle in the 7000 block of Armstrong Parkway and left the scene. 

Reported at 5:23 p.m.: A fraudster used the information of a resident in the 2900 block of Purdue Avenue.

Reported at 6:18 p.m.: A package pilferer took parcels from a home on Marquette Street

Reported at 7:30 p.m.: A thief stole items from a CVS store on Preston Road

Reported at 4:04 p.m.: A possible vehicle theft from a place on Preston Road

Reported at 6:57 p.m.: A trespasser at a CVS store on Mockingbird Lane
