NorthPark Center has been cleared to reopen after it was evacuated as Dallas police investigated a “security incident” Wednesday afternoon.

Dallas police responded to the 8600 block of North Central Expressway shortly before noon Wednesday and said in a post on social media that NorthPark was evacuated “out of an abundance of caution and the DPD Explosive Ordnance Disposal team searched and cleared the building.”

The building was cleared around 3:10 p.m., police said.

A NorthPark Center spokesperson said normal operations resumed around 3:15 p.m.

“The safety of our guests and employees is always our top priority. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience and we commend the Dallas Police Department for their swift response,” a NorthPark Center spokesperson said in a statement.

This is a developing story. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
