The Friends of the Dallas Public Library (FoDPL) is hosting its annual Literary Lions Luncheon on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. The luncheon will be held at the Arts District Mansion, located at 2101 Ross Avenue, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Guests will enjoy a keynote address from acclaimed sociologist and author Eric Klinenberg, followed by a conversation with Krys Boyd, host and managing editor of KERA’s Think.

This year’s luncheon event is especially meaningful as it celebrates more than 75 years of supporting and advocating for the Dallas Public Library. Held during National Library Week, an

annual celebration organized by the American Library Association, the luncheon highlights the essential role libraries, librarians and library staff play in strengthening communities.

Proceeds from the event directly benefit all 28 branch locations, as well as the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library. These funds support a wide range of initiatives, including staff resources, educational programming, literacy efforts and community-centered events that serve residents across Dallas.

Sponsorship opportunities and individual tickets are available now at bit.ly/literarylions. For additional details about underwriting or making a donation, please contact the Friends of the Dallas Public Library at [email protected]
