Crews were working on Tuesday to address a gas leak at the Inwood Village shopping center.

Jason Evans of Dallas Fire-Rescue said his department responded to the shopping center shortly before 10:30 a.m. Sept. 8.

An Atmos Energy spokesperson said an unrelated construction crew damaged a natural gas pipeline in the area of the shopping center and “several businesses” were evacuated as a precaution.

Atmos and Dallas Fire-Rescue had crews at the shopping center throughout the day Tuesday.

“The safety of our communities, our employees, and our system is our highest priority, and we appreciate Dallas Fire-Rescue for their support,” an Atmos spokesperson said in a statement.

Evans said no injuries have been reported. It’s unclear when the leak is expected to be fixed.

People Newspapers has reached out to representatives of the shopping center for additional information.
