Dallas Italian food institution Campisi’s has announced plans for new locations after a fire led to the closure of its W. Lovers Lane restaurant in December.
Campisi’s Restaurants announced on social media its intent to re-open at 7709 Inwood Road, where Perch Bistro and Bar was located until its closure in April. The opening there is expected in early 2027.
The announcement came after Campisi’s opened a delivery-focused kitchen earlier this month at the former Saucy’s Thai & Pho location on Royal Lane.
Campisi’s restaurant roots in Dallas date back to 1946, when Carlo “Papa” Campisi bought a bar with a small kitchen in the back at the corner of Knox and McKinney called the Idle Hour, where his family began to serve pizza, according to the restaurant’s website. The restaurant moved to a location on Mockingbird Lane in 1950, where it took over the former “Egyptian Lounge” spot.
