Neighbors, please remove or replace your green memorial ribbons. I know the neglect is not intentional, but the message seems to say “forgotten,” “moved on.” Like a tattered American flag, this display reads “disrespectful.” I know our hearts still break for the precious families who lost their daughters a summer ago (and the losses the other colored ribbons represent), but let’s refresh these symbols or remove them as to not hurt those who are suffering. I so appreciate our considerate community.
