In the October 2026 issue of Preston Hollow People, Dallas Cothrum is quoted “… that construction be harmonious with the environment and nearby homes” when referring to development in the Bluffview neighborhood. He continues, according to code, new builds should “conform in width, depth, and area to the pattern already established in the adjacent areas, having due regard to the character of the area, its particular suitability for development, and taking into consideration the natural topography of the ground, drainage, wastewater facilities, and the proposed layout of the streets.”
Preserve Preston Hollow agrees. Development should follow code, be compatible with surrounds already established, regard the character of the area, consider the elevation change from existing adjacent properties, and resolve wastewater issues.
So, Mr. Cothrum, why would you support a massive change in zoning and development within the Preston Royal Shopping Center that is not suitable or compatible with the existing area, does not help with already congested traffic flow in the area, and creates more issues for current infrastructure? Sustainability? Think again.
