I spotted this billboard at Highland Park High School last week. I’m guessing the Wall of Rejection is a new concept, because two alumnae I know from the Class of 2008 had never heard of it, and one of them said her brother, who graduated last year, hadn’t either. As to be expected with a new concept, the kids are having trouble understanding it. I assume the idea is for seniors to pin their rejection letters from colleges and universities to the board; for what purpose, I don’t know. Two students did just that, but another kid pinned up his early acceptance letter from Johns Hopkins, and a fourth posted her rejection letter from the Highland Park chapter of the National Honor Society.
