Somewhere in Highland Park, a couple of boys with a pellet gun are giggling about shooting up a house in the 4300 block of Versailles Avenue over the Memorial Day weekend. Well, their giggling may stop when they read this.
According to a Highland Park Department of Public Safety report, the house was shot between 3 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Monday. A newly painted window frame was damaged, as were two interior light fixtures.
The report also says two people working for the homeowner about a month ago saw a red dot on a second-story wall. When they looked into the backyard next door, they saw two teenage boys brandishing a laser-guided pellet gun. The workers told police they could positively ID the boys and their vehicles.
The DPS officer investigating this weekend’s prank was not able to make contact with anyone at the next-door house Monday; not surprising, since it was a holiday. But something tells me he’s not going to give up so easily.
