Last July, the University Park City Council declined to act on St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church’s plans to build a new playground that would be shielded from the Central Expressway frontage road by a wooden fence. Members of the council remembered when church officials wouldn’t get on board with a beautification plan for the intersection of Lovers Land and Central.
In September, architect Taylor Armstrong offered to work with the church on coming up with a more pleasing solution. That solution, a wrought-iron fence with masonry columns, will be considered by the City Council on Tuesday.
And let’s not forget that Armstrong will soon be a member of the council.
