Doug Swanson will be speaking about his book, “Blood Aces: The Wild Ride of Benny Binion, the Texas Gangster Who Created Vegas Poker” on Aug. 13 as part of HPUMC’s “Authors Live” series.
Apparently, Binion was a powerful, Las Vegas casino owner who learned the game from Bugsy Siegel, Howard Hughes, and Whitey Bulger.
