One week from right now, I will be finishing up a test drive of the new slide and high dive at the Curtis Park Pool. My exploits will be photographed for a story in the May 28 edition of Park Cities People. (They’ll also be videotaped, and the video will be posted on this blog.)
But that story will be much better if it includes some kids’ perspectives on the new facilities. So let’s have a contest: I’m looking for two Park Cities residents ages 9-12 who can miss school for a couple of hours next Thursday and meet me at the pool at 11 a.m. (Unfortunate timing, I know, but we had to work around the schedules of the city staff.) If your kid would like to join me, have him/her write an essay of 100 words or so about why he/she deserves to go down the slide before all his/her friends do. We’ll name the winners on Monday morning.
