Highland Park will wrap up the first half of the District 10-6A schedule tonight when it travels to Richardson Pearce. The match could also provide a clear-cut frontrunner for the district title.
The two unbeaten rivals are tied atop the league standings approaching the halfway mark, and although tonight’s meeting won’t be as critical as the regular-season finale on Oct. 27 at HP, it will separate the 10-6A leaders for the first time. Last year, the Mustangs won both matches against the Lady Scots to claim the crown.
HP has swept all but one of its district opponents so far, including North Mesquite on Sept. 25 and Mesquite on Tuesday. Against the Stallions, Falyn Reaugh had 13 kills, Madeline Bonnet added eight digs, Landry Ray posted 20 assists, and Jordan Westendorff tallied four aces. In the Mesquite match, team leaders included Peyton Eisnaugle (14 kills), Ray (20 assists), Bonnet (eight digs), and Greer Gordon (five aces).
