Skulduggery of the week: THE COASTER IS CLEARED
Between 5:15 and 10 p.m., a thief entered an unlocked black 2009 Lexus sedan in the 4500 block of Westside Drive and stole a set of Neiman Marcus coasters. The perpetrator also rummaged through the center console.
HIGHLAND PARK
23 MONDAY
At 11:11 a.m., an employee of Christian Louboutin at Highland Park Village reported the theft of a $1,450 purse sometime on Nov. 19.
Between 7:30 and 9 p.m., a thief stole two pairs of prescription glasses, with a combined value of $1,000, and a garage-door opener from an unlocked black 2014 Mercedes sedan at Nonna in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive.
26 THURSDAY
At 12:45 a.m., Brayden Faulk, 18, of University Park was arrested in the 5400 block of Abbott Avenue on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol by a minor.
Between 11 p.m. on Nov. 25 and 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 26, a thief stole a Tory Burch wallet from a porch in the 4200 block of Fairfax Avenue. The owner had fallen asleep after attending a party with some friends, and when they woke up to notice their wallet missing, their friends were gone, as well.
UNIVERSITY PARK
23 MONDAY
At 10:25 a.m., a 17-year-old student was arrested at Highland Park High School on a charge of possession of marijuana. A drug-sniffing dog, which walks around the campus with an officer on a routine basis, detected the pot in a parked car.
24 TUESDAY
Between 8 p.m. on Nov. 23 and 11 a.m. on Nov. 24, a burglar broke into a maroon 2008 Chevrolet Suburban in the 4300 block of Normandy Avenue and stole the third-row seat. The back seat also was taken during the same time frame from a black 2009 Cadillac Escalade in the 6800 block of Westchester Drive.
27 FRIDAY
At 12:25 a.m., Bryan Gerald Beuchler, 20, of Plano was arrested in the 3800 block of Windsor Lane on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
28 SATURDAY
At 10:43 p.m., a shoplifter stole $206.44 worth of merchandise from CVS at Park Cities Plaza. Officers recovered most of the stolen goods outside the store, but the larcenist got away.
