Pegasus Bank Chairman Joe Goyne presented plans for a new Pegasus Bank branch during the Highland Park Town Council meeting on June 17. The new location will be constructed at the intersection of Harvard Avenue and Tracy Street, replacing the bank’s location on nearby Knox Street.
Pegasus Bank, which acquired the property formerly owned and occupied by Allie Beth Allman & Associates, has plans to raze the existing structure and build a new one, conducive to the neighborhood, Goyne said. “We know how valued the Katy Trail area is, and we are pleased to bring in a new building that will maintain the integrity of the neighborhood’s aesthetic.”
The new location abuts the Katy Trail on the Dallas side of the dividing line between the City of Dallas and the Town of Highland Park. The new structure has been designed by GFF, and the images presented during Goyne’s June 17 presentation of the two-story building with easy access surface parking brought praise by HP Council members.
Previous attempts by other parties to purchase and develop the site were not successful as the proposals envisioned significantly larger structures, such as high-rise hotels, condominiums, and underground parking facilities which, Goyne noted, would have introduced a substantial vertical presence, raising concerns by neighboring residents of a “towering” effect on nearby residential properties and increased traffic in an already congested area.
Construction is slated to begin in early 2026 and completed early 2027.
