The State Fair of Texas is known for its fusion of foods. This year, the sportswear giant adidas and the athletic fashion retailer Hibbett have teamed up to cook up something fresh, fun, and undeniably Texan.

The midway’s new coveted specialty isn’t cotton candy bacon on a stick, but a piece of wearable Lone Star pride inspired by the spirit of the State Fair of Texas. And with only 1,320 pairs of the sneaker being made, securing a pair of the limited-edition kicks is as exclusive as winning a Big Tex Choice Award.

The collaborative design was dreamed up by a group of team members who wanted something that screams “fairground fun” and “Big Tex energy.” The sneaker’s embossing includes a Dallas star, a shiny Dubrae belt buckle, a corndog graphic hidden inside the right shoe, a Ferris wheel inside the left shoe, and a Texas silhouette stamped on the sole.

Want to see the Superstar in person before it flies off the shelves? Hibbett is throwing a community bash at its store located at 1441 Robert B. Cullum Boulevard from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 20. to celebrate the launch.

Festivities will include a mechanical bull-style ride shaped like a Superstar sneaker, Texas-themed cowboy hats, DIY bolo ties, sheriff badges, and classic games such as hoops and ring toss. Sneaker enthusiasts will be able to try on and purchase the new kicks.

So, lace up, Dallas. Your next favorite fairground attraction just might be on your feet.
