Guests at the 53rd-annual Cattle Baron’s Ball kicked up their heels on Oct. 17 at a Texas-sized celebration benefitting the American Cancer Society.

The festivities at Southfork Ranch included live music, cocktails, shopping, auctions, and dancing. The fun began with a VIP party presented by WinStar World Casino & Resort which featured a performance by Briscoe the Band.

Throughout the evening, guests captured memories at photo ops, received beauty touch-ups, participated in a raffle and silent auction, explored the marketplace and experiences, tested their skills on the ULINE Mechanical Bull, and tried their luck at the Anne Davidson Casino.

Live auction items included an Alaska Voyage with the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and an Epic Dolomites Bike & Hike Adventure for four. The evening’s Paddle Raise supported colon cancer research and initiatives in honor of Colin Fitzgibbons.

The headlining performance by Grammy-Award-winner Chris Stapleton included fan favorites such as “Tennessee Whiskey,” “Think I’m In Love With You,” and “You Should Probably Leave.” The celebration wrapped with the official after-party featuring Whataburger bites and live music from Dustin Becker.

Guests left with Highland Park Village wristbands and Copart favor bags. The UT Southwestern Medical Center Thank You Wall recognized the evening’s supporters.

This year’s Cattle Baron’s co-chairs were Paige Westhoff and Cynthia Everitt.

Since the Cattle Baron’s Ball began as a Texas-style barbecue in 1974, the event has raised more than $100 million for cancer research and become the largest single-night fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The Ball was founded by Patti Hunt and Jacque Wynne and initially held at the Wynne family ranch in Kaufman County. More than five decades later, its hands-on spirit continues through a committee of 100 women who volunteer their time, talent, and creativity in support of its mission.
