If you don’t know the story of “Herkie,” who died last week at age 89, you’re missing out, according to our colleague Nancy Nichols, who wrote a nice tribute over on FrontBurner.
He had ties to the Park Cities as an SMU grad and beyond, and basically was a pioneer among male cheerleaders who achieved celebrity status in his heyday. At any rate, the obit is here with information about services, etc.
