Dallas CASA’s Parade of Playhouses returns to NorthPark Center on Friday, May 22, showcasing eight custom-designed children’s playhouses created and donated by local architects, builders, and community partners.

The 17-day exhibit, running through June 7, features one-of-a-kind designs ranging from whimsical concepts such as “Bookworm” and “Storytell,” to themed structures including an auto market, filling station, historic home, café, reading nook, and Hawaiian cottage. This year’s lineup also includes a playhouse created by Highland Park High School MAPS students, inspired by a Dillbeck-designed home in the Park Cities.

The playhouses are displayed at NorthPark Center and are part of a raffle benefiting Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), which serves children in foster care who have experienced abuse or neglect. Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20 and are available throughout the event at NorthPark Center and at DallasCASA.org. The event is presented by Crest Auto Group.

Dallas CASA has hosted Parade of Playhouses since 1996. The organization says the event is its largest “friend-raiser,” drawing more than one million visitors annually and helping raise awareness about volunteer advocacy for children in foster care.

This year’s event is being held earlier than usual due to the FIFA World Cup beginning in Dallas in June.
