The heat cranks up in August, so a fun picnic in the park isn’t as ideal as it was in May.
Thankfully, the Highland Park Library has events scheduled throughout the month to keep you cool and engaged. You do not have to be a resident of Highland Park or have a library card to attend these events, but you must be 18+.
Chair yoga is still every Wednesday, except for when the Lunch Bunch Book Club meets, the second Wednesday of each month.
Mahjong Open Play for all skill sets will be held Tuesday, August 4 and 18, at 4:30 p.m., as well as Thursday, August 13 and 27, at 2 p.m.
This month’s Trivia Tuesday will be 80s themed and there will be a prize for best dressed so make sure to show up in your legwarmers and leotards!
The weekly writing workshop, Unearth Your Story, will continue to be held on Wednesdays at 9:45 a.m. It includes supportive discussion and an optional chance to share your work.
AI to Master, Preserve & Share What Matters Most, will teach you how to use AI to create meaningful personal projects such as turning family stories into podcasts, building a recipe book, or even creating a tutor to help you master a new skill. You’ll leave the Saturday session with practical AI skills and tools that can continue to be used after the workshop.
Lucky Ducky, a bingo-like program, and Adult Crafting Hour are also continuing this month.
For more information about this month’s library events, go to the Town of Highland Park’s event calendar.
