The City of Dallas Department of Transportation and Public Works will host a community meeting to provide updates about upcoming pedestrian and signal improvements along Preston Road and Douglas Avenue at 6 p.m. Thursday, August 6, at the Preston Royal Library, 5626 Royal Lane.
Proposed improvements will be shared by the project team. City representatives also plan to open the floor to community feedback, said District 13 Councilmember Gay Willis in a written statement.
According to city officials, the project will enhance transportation and pedestrian safety along Preston Road from West Northwest Highway to Walnut Hill Lane and Douglas Avenue from Colgate Avenue to Northwest Highway.
Planned improvements will include upgraded pedestrian crossings, accessibility enhancements, and signal improvements, with a focus on the intersections of Sherry Lane/Douglas Avenue and Berkshire Lane/Douglas Avenue, according to the written statement.
