If you drive down Hillcrest Avenue and pass by JD’s Chippery and Cotton Island, you may notice a new addition to Snider Plaza’s skyline.
A red, white, and blue light-up sign now sits atop the plaza. It’s similar to Bubba’s Cooks Country’s famous vintage red LED sign, but is a first for Snider Plaza.
Since its establishment in 1927, the shopping center has never had a physical landmark.
The sign was installed as part of improvements to the intersection of Hillcrest Avenue and Daniel Avenue.
It features the words “Snider Plaza” along with the year 1927. Its red, white, and blue colors pay homage to nearby Southern Methodist Unviersity.
Installation began Friday, July 31, and was completed the week of August 3.
