UPPD Sends Sex Offender Papers Via Snail Mail? 9 Days After?

|

Krista Nightengale starts the day with some University Park semi-registered sex offender news. In all fairness, I think Chief Gary Adams was out of town and it does seem reasonable to think someone in the department could mail something in his absence and perhaps before 9 days flew by. Even with Thanksgiving one would think something like an unregistered sex offender in the hood would’ve been a pre-turkey priority. Or maybe even worthy of a Fed Ex?

I would so love to know the last item UPPD sent expediated shipping service and why it was sent with a tracking number while the offender paperwork went snail mail. I think I’ll speed dial my good buddy with the great hair, Steve Mace. Developing.

UPDATE: I asked Steve Mace about the last package sent via expedited service by the UPPD so we could get an idea of the type of thing that rises to the level of Fed Ex worthy. It appears that it has to be pretty major.

I checked with the Chief’s administrative assistance.  She says the department uses FedEx once a month, or less.  Two recent examples are documents to CALEA as part of the continuing data sharing for department reaccreditation and testing information to a Chicago company in connection with a recent Sergeants exam.
