Torey Jamal Harris, 23, of Dallas was arrested on an alleged aggravated sexual assault by Navarro College Department of Public Safety in Corsicana on Sept. 15.
After the University Park Police Department released a sketch of the suspect for the Sept. 7 assault at Rosedale Avenue and Willard Drive, Navarro College law enforcement noticed the appearance was similar to that of their own suspect.
When UPPD detectives interviewed Harris, he confessed to the Sept. 7 assault in such a way that revealed his intimate knowledge of the crime. UPPD then issued arrest warrants.
“We want to point out that we’re still very early in the investigation,” UP police chief Greg Spradlin said at a press conference on Wednesday.
Harris is being held in the Navarro County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
