Execution Set for Former Bradfield Dad

John Battaglia has been a Texas death row inmate since May 2002, after he was convicted of killing his two daughters — students at Bradfield Elementary School — in 2001. Fifteen years later, the former Dallas accountant’s execution has been scheduled for March 30.

Battaglia’s story became infamous across North Texas after he took his daughters, ages 6 and 9, to his loft in Deep Ellum and shot them, while their mom listened on the phone.

The girls lived with their mother in Highland Park following a divorce a year prior to their deaths.

In July, the 5th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals denied Battaglia’s appeal, when he argued he had ineffective counsel. Read the full story from The Dallas Morning News.
