Preston Hollow resident/TV personality Lee Anne Locken and Park Cities lifestyle blogger Cynthia Smoot are helping KVIL-FM’s Gene and Juile Gates organize an event to benefit survivors of the July 20 movie massacre in Aurora, Colo. From 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sambuca (2120 McKinney Ave.) will host an event featuring complimentary appetizers, half-price drinks and an appearance by speaker Megan Saunders, a 20-year-old who witnessed the shootings. Guests are asked to make a $20 donation to directly benefit the Colorado Organization for Victim Assistance, which will provide support to the tragedy’s survivors.
