Northaven Trail users will encounter a temporary diversion between Ricks Circle and Edgemere Road as Oncor expands its substation at Edgemere. This expansion is aimed at increasing the capacity to meet rising electricity demands on high-power transmission lines.
The detour follows a side path along the south edge of the Oncor easement and is expected to remain in place until June.
In collaboration with Oncor, the Friends of Northaven Trail successfully preserved trees surrounding the substation on its north, east, and south perimeters, as well as those lining Edgemere Road.
