Dallas Police Department’s (DPD) motorcycle unit launched Operation Slow Down on March 1, targeting high-speed areas across the city to reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities.
In just the first two weeks, officers have issued 707 citations and 84 warnings, showing a strong commitment to keeping streets safe.
Gay Donnell Willis, deputy mayor pro tem and Dallas city council member representing District 13, praised the initiative, noting that high-visibility enforcement is a critical step toward protecting residents during the busy spring months.
The operation will continue with officers spending at least two hours daily enforcing traffic laws alongside responding to other complaints.
DPD released a public service announcement that read, “The Dallas Police Department is dedicated to keeping our city safe, and we’re asking drivers to do their part.”
