University Park has earned the right to call itself the Park Cities mahjong champion.
Suzanne Duda, a member of the UP Charleston Charmers, took home the top prize on April 18 in the city vs. town mahjong competition hosted by the Highland Park Library and University Park Public Library.
She received a mahjong set, which was donated by Holly Davis, and earned the UP library the right to display the tournament’s winning trophy.
The city vs. town mahjong tournament began on March 7 with a competition at the University Park Public Library to determine who would represent the city and town in April. The finals were held on the Highland Park Library’s automatic table.
