Early voting for the May 26 primary runoff elections is underway until May 22. Here’s what to know about what’s on the ballot in the Park Cities and Preston Hollow, where to vote, and what you’ll need to bring to vote.

Republican and Democratic voters are deciding their party’s nominees in several key races in which no candidate received more than 50% of the vote in the March 3 primary elections.

Notably, after widespread confusion among voters in the county about where they could cast their ballots in the March 3 primaries following a return to precinct-based voting for that election, voters will be able to cast their ballot anywhere in the county for the May 26 elections. This comes after an appeals court declined to issue an emergency court order restoring precinct-based voting for the primary runoff election that was sought by a Dallas County GOP precinct chair.

What’s on the ballot

The U.S. Senate race is hotly contested. Incumbent Sen. John Cornyn is trying to fend off a challenge from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Cornyn received 42% of the vote (910,382 total votes) to Paxton’s 41% (878,564 total votes) in the March 3 primary.

The winner of the runoff will go on to face Democrat James Talarico, who beat Jasmine Crockett in the March primary, in November.

In U.S. House District 24, which includes parts of the Park Cities and Preston Hollow in Dallas County as well as a large swath in Tarrant County, Kevin Burge faces a challenge from TJ Ware for the Democratic nomination. The winner of the runoff will face incumbent Republican Beth Van Duyne in November.

  • Election ID certificate

  • U.S. Military ID card
