SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: MISSING WALLET
Reported at 12:59 p.m. May 4: A sneaky stealer swiped a woman’s wallet containing around $5,400 in various currencies, bank cards, a safe deposit box key, and more from the downstairs women’s restroom at Mi Cocina in Highland Park Village.

4 Monday
Arrested at 1:20 a.m.: A 28-year-old at Mockingbird Lane and Airline Road for driving while intoxicated and warrants.
5 Tuesday
Arrested at 1:40 a.m.: A 29 year old at Preston Road and Normandy Avenue for possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawfully carrying a weapon.
Reported at 1:31 p.m.: A burglar broke into a garage apartment in the 4200 block of Lorraine Avenue and rummaged through various drawers, boxes and stacks of clothes.
6 Wednesday
Reported at 8:18 a.m.: A ne’er do well drove off in a Chevrolet Tahoe that was parked at the corner of Hillcrest Avenue and Cornell Avenue that was later found, and stole a set of golf clubs and bag, some shirts, and a key fob from inside.
Reported at 12:42 p.m.: An opportunistic thief took various documents, including registration, title, and proof of insurance, from a GMC Sierra in the 3100 block of St. Johns Drive.

Arrested at 4:41 p.m.: A 30 year old at Westside Drive and Macarthur Avenue for a warrant.

Arrested at 12:30 a.m.: A 43 year old in the 5500 block of Mount Vernon Avenue for evading arrest or detection with a vehicle and driving while intoxicated.
Reported at 9:26 a.m.: A criminal took two catalytic converters from a Buick LeSabre that was parked near the corner of Mockingbird lane and Preston Road in the Highland Park Village employee parking lot.
Arrested at 10:02 p.m.: A 31 year old in the 4300 block of Wycliff Avenue for a warrant.

Reported at 1:49 p.m.: A pilferer stole a purse from a BMW X5 that was parked in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue which contained a $9,000 Cartier bracelet, a $5,000 tennis bracelet, $5,000 stud earrings, bank cards, makeup, and various children’s toys.

Reported at 6:41 a.m.: A mischief maker broke a $500 vase on a porch in the 4600 block of S. Versailles Avenue.
