The Highland Park Town Council approved a $38,000 donation from the Friends of Highland Park Library (FHPL) to fund the re-creation and installation of a children’s room mural by Eyecon Studios.

FHPL representatives thanked the council for their support during a June 16 Town Council meeting.

The original mural was installed in 2008 and funded through community donations to the Highland Park Quality of Life Foundation.

The mural was removed after storm-related roof damage in late 2025 affected the library’s children’s room. Restoration of the mural was not included in the library’s repair project budget and was not replaced during construction.

According to FHPL, work on the new mural is expected to begin next year.
