Dallas Recreation Centers will be closed Friday, Aug. 7, as part of required city furlough days amid a budget shortfall.

City officials said in a press release that the furlough day for the recreation centers was rescheduled to later in the summer “to keep recreation centers fully open during the peak summer rush.”

Area recreation centers include the Bachman Recreation Center at 2750 Bachman Drive, the K.B. Polk Recreation Center at 6801 Roper Street, the Marcus Recreation Center at 3003 Northaven Road, the Reverchon Recreation Center at 3505 Maple Avenue, and the Walnut Hill Recreation Center at 10011 Midway Road.

While the recreation centers will be closed on Friday, aquatic facilities, administrative offices, and maintenance facilities will be open.
