SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: PRICEY POOL PILFERING

Reported at 12:18 p.m. on Aug. 10 in Highland Park: A woman discovered that a crook had stolen her credit/debit cards and racked up more than $25,000 in charges at stores including Van Cleef & Arpels, Tom Ford, Target, and Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods. She had visited the Dallas Country Club pool and taken a Pilates Barre class in Snider Plaza earlier in the day.

HIGHLAND PARK

10 Monday

Arrested at 4:04 a.m.: A 25 year old for possession of drug paraphernalia and warrants at Lomo Alto Drive and Westway Avenue.

Arrested at 4:04 a.m.: A 23 year old for possession of drug paraphernalia and warrants at Lomo Alto Drive and Westway Avenue.

Arrested at 4:04 a.m.: A 25 year old for possession of drug paraphernalia at Lomo Alto Drive and Westway Avenue.

Arrested at 4:04 a.m.: A 25 year old for possession of marijuana, driving with an invalid license, and warrants at Lomo Alto Drive and Westway Avenue.

Reported at 9:38 a.m.: A fraudster used the information of a resident in the 4300 block of Livingston Drive to try to open a bank account.

Reported at 4:14 p.m.: A burglar broke the window of a Jeep SUV in the 3700 block of Lexington Avenue and stole a North Face backpack containing a MacBook.

Reported at 4:21 p.m.: A smash-and-grab thief broke the window of a vehicle in the 3500 block of Crescent Avenue and stole a purse containing about $2,000 in cash, among other items.

Arrested at 11:19 p.m.: A 64 year old for driving while intoxicated at Preston Road and Mockingbird Lane.

Arrested at 11:20 p.m.: A 28 year old for public intoxication in Highland Park Village.

Arrested at 11:30 p.m.: A 29 year old for possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication in Highland Park Village.

Reported at 6:28 a.m.: A burglar stole a golf bag and clubs valued at $3,500 from a truck in the 3100 block of Beverly Drive.

Reported at 2:52 p.m.: A crook stole a vehicle with a $5,000 toolbox from the parking lot of the Whole Foods store in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive.

Reported at 8:41 p.m.: A burglar stole a firearm and a tool kit containing a cordless drill, among other items, from a Ford F-450 in the 3500 block of Beverly Drive.

Arrested at 12:59 a.m.: A 59 year old for a warrant in the 3400 block of Gillon Avenue.

Arrested at 3:24 p.m.: A 23 year old for a warrant in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue.

Reported at 6:30 a.m.: A thief stole a vehicle on Hanover Street.

Reported at 7:25 a.m.: A reckless driver hit a vehicle on Windsor Parkway and left without providing information.

Reported at 8:45 a.m.: A burglar got into a vehicle on Southwestern Boulevard and stole things.

Reported at 10:36 a.m.: A mischief maker damaged property at a home in University Park.

Reported at 11:32 p.m.: A careless driver hit a street sign on Hanover Street and didn’t stop to leave information.

Reported at 5:44 p.m.: A reckless driver hit a vehicle on University Boulevard and left the scene.

Reported at 6:56 a.m.: A burglar got into a vehicle on Purdue Street.

Reported at 7:09 a.m.: A crook stole things from a vehicle on Purdue Street.

Reported at 9:42 a.m.: A trespasser at a home on Purdue Street.

The University Park Police Department said in a post on social media that it is investigating a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred Aug. 15 – 17 between Stanford Avenue and Southwestern Boulevard, and is asking residents in the area to check their doorbells and security or surveillance cameras and share anything related to the incidents or other suspicious activity with the police department by email at [email protected]. As of Aug. 19, People Newspapers has received the UPPD arrest and incident reports through Aug. 15.
