Work proposed for Preston Road and Douglas Avenue was the focus of an Aug. 6 public meeting.
The proposed project includes intersection and traffic signal improvements at Preston Road and Douglas Avenue, enhancements to the Dallas North Tollway exit ramp and adjacent roadway, and the construction of Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant sidewalks and ramps along Douglas Avenue and Preston Road.
Specifically, signal improvements are proposed for the Douglas Avenue and Sherry Lane intersection, the Douglas Avenue and Luther Lane intersection, the Preston Road and Park Lane intersection, and the Preston Road and Walnut Hill Lane intersection. Signing and pavement markings would also be updated.
District 13 Council District Director Andrew Krause said construction is expected to start in the summer of 2027, with finalized design plans to be presented early to mid spring 2027.
Public comments on the project will be accepted through Sept. 3, 2026. To submit comments, click here.
