A woman received a seven-year prison sentence after her conviction for intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault in connection with a 2023 crash that led to the death of an SMU student, court records show.

Lynlee Pollis, 30, was convicted last week after a trial in Dallas County, according to court records.

Dallas police had reported that Honor Wallace, who was 19 and a student at SMU, was driving eastbound on Monticello Avenue at the North Central Expressway service road on Sept. 24, 2023, when another driver, identified as Pollis, ran a red light on the service road and hit Wallace in the intersection.

Police had said at the time that Wallace, a passenger in Wallace’s vehicle, and Pollis were taken to a local hospital after the crash. Wallace died from her injuries and Pollis was subsequently arrested, according to officials.
