Ugh. The headline says it all. And the Morning News has a bit more information. But Barneys New York is closing its only department store in Texas.
In a statement, NorthPark said the mall’s “hope for Barneys was that their merchandise mix would complement the offerings of our other retailers, and that their prime location within the shopping center and within the city would enable them to thrive.”
Whelp. Guess that didn’t happen.
I’ve always heard Dallas is the fashion capital of the south. Are we on track to losing that title? Austin at least has a Barneys Coop. Maybe they’ll soon be the best?
