HPISD No. 1 District of Its Size in Accountability Ratings, Officials Announce

For the second year in a row, Highland Park ISD has earned the top spot among the state’s traditional 5A/6A public school districts in accountability ratings from the Texas Education Agency, the district announced on Aug. 14.

Highland Park ISD received a score of 95 out of 100 and an “A” grade in the ratings, which are based on student achievement, how well schools prepare students for the next grade or graduation, and whether schools ensure that all student groups can be successful.

The individual grades received by HPISD campuses are:

• Armstrong Elementary School: 95
• Boone Elementary School: 94
• Bradfield Elementary School: 91
• Hyer Elementary School: 94
• University Park Elementary School: 95
• McCulloch Intermediate School: 95
• Highland Park Middle School: 95
• Highland Park High School: 96

Highland Park ISD outscored three other high-performing districts that administrators often turn to as comparisons: Carroll ISD in Tarrant County, which received a 93, Lovejoy ISD in Collin County, which scored a 94, and Eanes ISD in Travis County, which also received a score of 94.
