It’s hard for even me to believe that tonight will be the first time I’ve ever made the trek to Scotland Yard. And while we’re making confessions here, I have never covered sports — not even Little League — until tonight. Our dear sports editor, Chuck Cox, is in Austin covering the state track meet and managing editor Dan Koller is being forced to celebrate his anniversary. So it’s a good thing that I’ll have my dear husband, Dave, with me, keeping score as he always does — the old-fashioned way.
Honestly, I couldn’t have picked a better time to go watch some Scots baseball if I tried, considering that tonight is the first game of the area finals best-of-three series against North Dallas High School. If y’all see us out there — look for the hugely pregnant lady with a camera and a dude with a scoresheet, neither of us wearing white — stop on by and say howdy!
