With the summer heat starting to roll in, there are many reasons to go swimming on Sunday. But here’s some added incentive, along with an opportunity to make a splash outside the pool: The second annual Swim Across America Dallas Pool Swim is slated for 9 a.m. at Town North YMCA.
The swim will benefit the Swim Across America Innovative Clinical Trials Center at Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Dallas. That’s a mouthful, but a worthy cause nevertheless.
The event provides a chance for swimmers of all skill levels to join a pair of 1996 Olympic gold medalists — Brad Bridgewater and Ryan Berube — who will anchor a relay team with the top six fundraisers from the event.
The swim includes half-mile and one-mile distances, which can be completed either individually or as part of a relay. Swimmers must raise at least $100 to participate. Click here to register or for more information.
