Highland Park will open the Class 6A Region II volleyball playoffs tonight, when the Lady Scots will look to repeat the consistent success they experienced at the 4A level.
In its bi-district match, HP will meet Irving MacArthur at 7 p.m. at Duncanville High School. The Lady Scots were the runner-up in District 10-6A during the regular season, while the Lady Cardinals lost a second-place tiebreaker with Irving Nimitz in District 9-6A. HP defeated Waxahachie in four sets in a playoff warm-up match on Friday.
The winner of Tuesday’s clash will face either Sachse or Killeen in the area round later this week, at a time and site to be determined.
Last season, the Lady Scots advanced to the third round of the Class 4A playoffs before falling to Frisco Centennial.
