Highland Park will test itself against some elite competition this week at the Spring Creek Invitational girls basketball tournament in Mansfield.
The Lady Scots (13-5) will face either Mansfield or Saginaw Chisholm Trail in their first game on Monday afternoon. Bracket play for the 28-team field continues through Wednesday at various Mansfield ISD venues.
HP will look to continue a three-game winning streak. The Lady Scots topped their first three District 12-5A opponents by a combined margin of 156-63.
Also starting on Monday is the Dr Pepper Holiday Invitational, which will include several Preston Hollow teams playing at Dallas ISD gyms.
W.T. White is in the boys platinum division, where the Longhorns will take on Houston Legacy and Austin LBJ in pool play. In the girls platinum division, Greenhill will meet Denton Braswell and Putnam City (Okla.) North prior to bracket play.
First-round matchups in the boys gold division include Episcopal School of Dallas against Skyline and Hillcrest versus Arlington. In the girls gold division, Hillcrest will open with Lake Highlands.
