Highland Park rallied from an early deficit and pulled away late for a 66-37 win in District 12-5A boys basketball action on Tuesday.

Canon Wyatt scored 21 points to lead the Scots (13-8, 4-0), who recovered from an uneven start to remain unbeaten in league play.

Newman Smith managed just 19 points in the final three quarters combined. HP outscored the Trojans 40-10 in the second and third quarters, including an 18-2 run to start the second half.

In the preceding girls game, HP remained atop the 12-5A standings with a convincing 62-23 victory over Newman Smith. Ellington Heis had 26 points and Kate Danner added 18 to pace the Lady Scots (18-7, 6-0).

Next up, the HP girls will wrap up the first half of the district slate on Friday at Frisco Reedy, with the boys game to follow.
