Archers on Target at State Tourney

Highland Park's middle and high school archers posted high scores at their state tournament.

Highland Park’s archery teams hit the bullseye at last weekend’s state archery tournament in San Antonio.

Raider archers from Highland Park Middle School finished sixth in the Texas National Archery in the Schools Program competition.

The middle school’s top archer, eighth-grader Everett Heis, scored 285 points to finish first out of 639 middle school girls and second overall for middle school.

Other top Raider archers were seventh-graders Wilson Hornbach, who scored 276 points, and Alice Hodges, who scored 274.

Highland Park High School’s archers finished in 12th place. The high school’s top archers were senior Henry Zhu and junior Elle Pace, who each scored 286 points. Freshman Aiden Xia also made a significant contribution to the team, scoring 276 points.
